Margaret has served as head of United Way of Southeastern Idaho since 2004. Prior to joining United Way, she led resource development with Pocatello Neighborhood Housing Services, helping PNHS secure Community Development Financial Institution status. Margaret practiced law and later served as the Director of Pro Bono Services with Utah Legal Services as well as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah School of Law. Though she enjoyed helping clients achieve success through the practice of law, she came to United Way to be part of effecting long-lasting change leading to better lives for many people. Little known fact about Margaret—she still harbors a great love for tater tot hotdish from her upbringing in Minnesota.
Director of Early Learning
Kim’s story includes volunteerism in civic, non-profit, and faith based capacities. She is currently facilitating a call to action to create a community wide campaign championing a quality early learning vision for all children, birth through age 8. Kim is inspired by “Live United” values that build relationships to impact communities for the common good. She holds a BA degree from the University of Colorado and serves as an AmeriCorps VISTA. As an avid reader captivated by rare plot twists, Kim wants to know what keeps you turning the pages of a good book?
Director of Education 2 Careers
Felice Otero is the Director of Education 2 Careers for the United Way of Southeastern Idaho. Felice came to United Way in March of 2017 as an AmeriCorps VISTA, after living in the world of Higher Education for seventeen years. Her prior experiences include working at five different colleges and universities in Idaho, Massachusetts and Wisconsin in the areas of Admissions, Financial Aid, Orientation, First Year Experience, and Housing and Residential Life. It is through this work that Felice found her passion for helping students transition through the college experience and gain their degrees. This work continues at the United Way where she is coordinating collaborative efforts with other community leaders to increase the area: high school graduation rate, post-secondary readiness and completion rate, and the number of graduates staying in the region to pursue careers. Felice holds a BA from Carroll University and a MA from Boston College. In her spare time she likes to travel, read, hike, garden, and spend time with her feisty miniature schnauzer Pixie!
Resource Development Associate
Wendi’s experiences have always seemed to place her in capacity to bring people together. She is thrilled to share her passion of developing tailor made marketing campaigns to light the fire of excitement and motivation in all that she embraces. Throughout her career she has lead and trained the organization of teams, facilitated community events, and created targeted marketing to increase revenue. Protecting the foundation of our lives of which we have we worked so very hard to build has been a cornerstone in her career and daily life. From a young age Wendi has volunteered in civic-organizations as well as non-profit agencies throughout the region. Wendi’s personal motto, “Live well, work hard, and inspire as you go,” fits perfectly in line with our Live United values! Wendi loves spending time outdoors with her family and enjoying what our beautiful Southeast Idaho has to offer!
Molly is a native of Southeastern Idaho. She attended Idaho State University earning her degree in psychology. To add to her experience at ISU she participated in The Centennial Committee and The National Psychology Honor Society. Molly began working in her chosen field directly after graduation. For six years, she committed to and enjoyed helping those in need through her work. Volunteering as a CASA advocate and an active member of The District 6 Mental Health Panel, Molly stayed involved in the community she served as a professional and shared as a member. Her next pursuit shifted her focus to operations management for a multi-faceted company with three locations whose reach crossed the border to Canada. In the five years Molly worked in an office setting, she developed policies and procedures to help expand business. When she isn’t working, she and her family enjoy going to a variety of community events, taking road trips, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors in Idaho.
