One of the most effective value-adds that comes with your United Way investment is the work we do to strengthen area nonprofit organizations so that they can more effectively focus on mission.
Many nonprofits struggle to keep up with increasingly complex financial management requirements every year. Small organizations and all-volunteer run organizations have a particularly difficult time obtaining the needed skills and knowledge. In wake of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, fewer and fewer CPAs will conduct nonprofit audits. For those CPAs who still perform nonprofit audits, the cost is prohibitive for many nonprofits in our area, as is the cost of outsourcing accounting functions or attending training outside of the region.
United Way of Southeastern Idaho believes that one of the best investments of funds is to build nonprofits' ability to steward the monies entrusted to them. Thanks to you, we can give them the training they need!
